San Diego’s top candidates for mayor faced off Thursday night at the San Diego Firehouse Museum in Little Italy.

Community members got the chance to hear where they stand on topics ranging from homelessness to the housing crisis, no question was off limits.

The mayoral candidate forum, presented by the Little Italy Residents Association, gave an opportunity for the neighborhood to meet and hear from three candidates who are running for mayor of San Diego in the March 2020 primary election. Each are looking to take the place of current mayor Kevin Faulconer.

Democratic candidates Barbara Bry, Todd Gloria and the newest candidate to enter the race, lone Republican Scott Sherman, were all present.

Hot topics included the scooter issues plaguing our beach communities, taxes going towards public transit or fixing our roads and the rising cost of living.

After the nearly two hour forum concluded, KUSI caught up with some community members to get their take on the candidates.
