How’s the neighborhood?

August 6, 2020

San Diego is called a “City of Villages” for a reason.

Every neighborhood has its own history. Its own character. And its own unique sources of frustration.

That’s why, during this health and economic crisis, it is all the more important that we listen closely to neighbors in crafting solutions for a roadmap to recovery.

So, each week, I’ve been visiting different neighborhoods in San Diego.

I learned about the hurdles for small businesses in Emerald Hills. About the impact short-term rentals have had on the liveability of Mission Beach. How we must address homelessness, drug abuse and theft in Ocean Beach. Fix the roads and protect single-family zoning in Rancho Bernardo. And support hard-working families in San Ysidro.

I’ve said from the beginning, I believe in every neighborhood's right to participate in and plan its own future.

I’d love to come talk to yours.

If you have a group of people who want to talk about issues in your neighborhood, let’s meet.

Onward!
