Last month, I wrote a letter to the governor urging him to consider an Executive Order directing all county treasurer-tax collectors to extend the April 10, 2020 Property Tax payment deadline. I was painfully aware of COVID-19 impacts on our economy and on many homeowners and property owners unable to make the payment on time.

I am pleased today to thank San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector Dan McAllister for doing the right thing by providing for cancellation of the property tax late payment penalty for tax payments made by June 30.
