Promises of simplistic solutions — “just build more housing” — will not solve this difficult and complex problem. Barbara will focus on the root causes, including substance abuse and mental health issues, and treat homelessness with a comprehensive approach.
Sacramento politicians, backed by real estate speculators and Short-Term Vacation Rental investors, want to buy-up and destroy single-family neighborhoods. Barbara won’t let them!
Barbara is a long-time supporter of creating an Independent Police Review Commission. She knows that police reform begins with community-oriented policing and recruitment of good police officers, not “defunding” the Police Department.
